Johanne Louise Schmidt

Johanne Louise Schmidt (born 16 October 1983 in Skanderborg) is a Danish actress. Graduating from the Danish National School of Theatre in 2009, she began her career on stage and joined the permanent ensemble Det Røde Rum at the Royal Danish Theatre in 2011. She achieved cinematic prominence by portraying the recurring role of Rose, the assistant in Department Q, in the film adaptations of Jussi Adler-Olsen's crime novels: The Absent One (Fasandræberne, 2014), A Conspiracy of Faith (Flaskepost fra P, 2016), and The Purity of Vengeance (Journal 64, 2018). On television, she notably appeared in the drama series DNA (2019) and Min kamp (2021). She continues her film career with roles in The Exception (Undtagelsen, 2020), Bamse (2022), and Beginnings (Begyndelser, 2026). Alongside her live-action work, she regularly performs voice-over and dubbing for animated films in Danish.
