Rinio Dragasaki
Rinio Dragasaki (Greek: Ρηνιώ Δραγασάκη) was born in 1980. She studied directing in Athens and documentary in Barcelona. She has worked in cinema, advertising and television and has written and directed four short films and one feature film. The short film “My Dad, Lenin and Freddy” was screened at many international festivals: Clermont-Ferrand, Sao Paulo, Chicago, Edinburgh etc. where it was distinguished. In 2012 it won the award for best short film from the Hellenic Film Academy and three more awards at the Drama Festival including the Argyros Alexandros. The film was screened on Canal+ in France and on SBS in Australia. “The Courtyard” premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and was nominated for the Crystal Bear, while it was one of the five nominations for the best short film of 2014 by the Hellenic Film Academy. The film participated in many international festivals (Guanajuato, Edinburgh, Dresden, Brest, etc.) and was distinguished for its experimental form. In 2014, she participated in the Sundance IF Instabul Screenwriter’s Lab with the script of her first feature film “Cosmic Candy”. The film had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, in September 2019.
