Arjun Lal
Arjun Lal is a Mumbai-based writer and director whose work spans fiction, documentary, and advertising. A graduate of Prague Film School with a Master’s in Filmmaking (Direction & Screenwriting), he has directed short films, commercials, and documentaries that blend strong storytelling with visual sensitivity.
He recently wrote and directed a 20-minute short film titled - Mother Tongue (2025), commissioned by LXL Ideas & School Cinema and produced under Eclectic Films. Arjun previously served as Associate Director on 1947: Brexit India — a two-hour international documentary hosted by Boman Irani and featuring Dr. Shashi Tharoor and William Dalrymple amongst others — officially selected at IFFI and MIFF. His graduation film Adhura (2020) premiered at several international festivals including NYIFF, BISFF, and TSAFF, earning him the Best Director Faculty Award at Prague Film School.
In advertising, Arjun has directed campaigns for brands like Snitch, HDFC Securities, Miraj’s Tickly Candy, and Flipkart.
He continues to develop films centered on layered human stories and emotional realism. He has recently completed a feature-length screenplay and is currently developing more projects in both fiction and documentary.
